Anja Kaspersen

IMG_1396HI, I’m Anja, a former career diplomat, geo-strategic analyst and security practitioner who developed a passion for new technologies and reverse-engineering traditional ways of looking at policy, security and governance with the lens of technology.

There’s such a gap between our current governance structure and where we’re headed with technology, that I’ve now dedicated myself to helping governments, international organisations and companies understand new waves of innovation and adapt.

Since 2016, when not working on pushing the idea of the need for BIG4AI, my day to day job is with the ICRC. I am the Head of Strategic Engagement and New Technologies at the International Committee of the Red Cross. A role I am passionate about. The digital and technological impact on conflict and humanitarian action is significant.

Previously I was with the World Economic Forum as a member of the Executive Committee. I am serving as a member of the World Policy Institute Council, the IEEE initiative on AI and the Harvard Future Society AI-Initiative.

Former positions include a long and varied career, spanning across several continents, with the Norwegian Government and the UN, international organisations, diplomacy, research, academia and business.
