David Roscoe

Board Chair of The Hastings Center,  Director and Senior Executive at J.P.Morgan (retired)

David RoscoeDavid L. Roscoe, board chair of The Hastings Center since 2009, has a keen interest in the ethical issues associated with AI, genetics, neuroscience, and other emerging technologies driving the Fourth Industrial Revolution.  In his 33-year tenure as a managing director and senior executive at J.P.Morgan, he filled several global leadership roles in New York and London related to technology, information systems, securities, and risk management.  Subsequently, he was the chief executive officer of Bridge Information Systems and then became a senior executive at RiskMetrics, a financial risk management service provider later acquired by MSCI.  He currently serves as a director of the Bats stock and equity options exchanges, part of the Chicago Board Options Exchange companies, and of Modern Bank, a private bank in New York.  Mr. Roscoe holds a BA degree with honors in Economics from Yale University and an MBA from the University of Oregon.  He served on active duty as an officer in the US Naval Reserve in the Vietnam era.
